Prerequisite: EDUC 345 Instruction in assessing the reading abilities and progress of elementary students. Emphasizes stages of literacy and techniques of informal reading, spelling and writing assessment. Students gain experience by conducting assessments and planning literacy activities in field-based, one-on-one sessions with elementary learners. Fall semester.
