A survey of the algebra needed for the study of advanced mathematics and related areas. Some of the topics included are the real number system, algebraic operations, linear and quadratic equations, graphing of equations and inequalities, functions and relations, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations, matrices and determinants, sequences and series, basic concepts of trigonometry and complex numbers. Prerequisite: MAT111 with a minimum grade of "C" or appropriate scores on UMA Placement Test.
