The purpose of this didactic course is to prepare the Advanced Gerontological Nurse Practitioner/Diabetes Clinical Manager Nursing student with a knowledge basis for identifying and implememting appropriate health promotion and disease prevention strategies with older adults. The focus is on the advanced practice nursing of older adults, especially those with diabetes in multiple health care settings. Emphasis is placed on health promotion/disease prevention and related health issues with strategic planning at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of prevention.
