This course provides an introduction to anthropological perspectives of the relationship between culture/society and psychological processes. The course will survey the history of anthropological interest in cross-cultural psychology, and will address current topics of interest of anthropologists in studies of the mind, emotion, and mental illness in a wide range of cultures. Prerequisites: AN 100 or AN 105 or by permission of instructor. PSY 120 is recommended.
