This course provides an overview of a broad range of subjects in the fields of medical anthropology and medical sociology. It analyzes the ways in which health, illness and healing are embedded in their cultural and social contexts. And it investigates healing practices and meanings attributed to health and illness in a variety of cultures and social settings. Prerequisites: An 100 or AN 105 or by permission of instructor.
