Covers all aspects of the biology of microorganisms: their cellular structures and function, growth and metabolism, general and molecular genetics, diversity and interactions with other organisms and the environment (ecology). The objective is to provide students with a thorough introduction to microbiology including basic micro-biological laboratory techniques. Note: General cell biology or general genetics is recommended. Prereq: One year of general biology and one year of general chemistry with grades of ā€œCā€ (2.0)or higher.
