This course teaches the basic aspects of child development and child study, as well as encouraging critical thinking on early childhood topics. It is designed to provide an understanding of the interrelatedness of child development theories, and an understanding of important factors that affect the young child's growth. Emphasis lies in observational, recording and evaluation techniques of the young child's individual development and reflection on meeting the needs of young children in diverse circumstances. (Sp)
