The first of a two-semester sequence in Introductory Arabic. Its purpose is to introduce students to Arabic as it is spoken today. Emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills through intensive drills, exposure to basic structural patterns, and functional vocabulary. Study requires extensive use of audio-tapes.
