BISP 195 - Introduction to Teaching in Biology

Introduction to the teaching of the basic course in biology. A student under the direction of the instructor of the course is assigned one class section and will meet one time per week with the section. A student is required to attend the course lecture, lead a discussion section, and meet with the instructor of the course at least one time per week. Limited to upper-division students who have a B average or higher. Three hours’ lecture. (P/NP grades only.) Prerequisites: consent of instructor and approval of department chair. (Note: Applications for a BISP 195 are to be submitted to the Division of Biological Sciences by the end of the sixth week of the quarter preceding the quarter in which the BISP 195 will be completed.) This course may be counted as one of the upper-division electives for a biology major.
