2 hours lecture, 3 hours laboratory Prerequisites: Senior standing in College of Engineering Study of a range of ocean engineering topics to provide a basis for the design of systems, which must function in the ocean environment. Topics include ocean waves, water quality, ocean optics, vehicle dynamics, underwater structures, and ocean sensing systems. The course also includes laboratory experiments aboard the Umass Dartmouth research vessel Lucky Lady and experiments in the acousto/optic tank at the UMass Dartmouth Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology.
