Advanced study of developing field of tourism in anthropology; explores cultural dynamics and dilemmas of tourism and tourist development; different forms of tourism (mass, elite, eco, ethnic and heritage) assessed both in terms of impacts on host culture and its environment as well as tourists themselves; tourism assessed as a development alternative, a driver of cultural change, and a form of local, regional national, international and intercultural relations.
