Explores structure of a mathematical system including sets and whole numbers, sets and arithmetic, system of whole numbers, base-ten arithmetic, arithmetic in bases other than ten, and elementary number theory. Also covers system of integers, system of rational numbers, decimal expansions and real numbers, the metric system, probability, and statistics. Provides instruction for students who intend to teach in elementary school. Lec. 3 hrs. Pre-requisite: MATH 102 or CC.
