This course is required for prospective teachers seeking the Provisional Middle Childhood License. The course is designed to provide opportunities to explore characteristics and issues of middle childhood learners, family concerns and structures, various school organizations designed specifically for the middle childhood learner, and techniques to help provide a successful learning experience to middle childhood learners. This course will guide the prospective teacher through the National Middle School Association standards and the Interstate New Teachers Assessment & Support Consortium standards. Prerequisite: Admission to Teacher Education
