This course is required for prospective teachers seeking the Provisional Early Childhood License. The course explores the social and emotional development of the young child. It investigates the causes of children's various behaviors. It describes the interrelationships of the child/sibling/parents/grandparents/care givers. It focuses on theoretical approaches to child guidance. It also assists the students in determining their own eclectic guidance system. It stresses the importance of the development of self-control in children. Prerequisite: EDU220 or concurrent enrollments
