This course focuses on the role of case management in mental health and community support services. Included is information on the history and nature of human and social services, the social service network, client entitlements, and legal rights. Skills necessary for relating to clients, helping to set goals and solve problems, learning when and how to intervene in crisis situations, and how to be effective advocates while drawing on the strengths of the client and the community are discussed. Prerequisite: SOC201, PSY200
