This course examines the concepts of complex nursing using the nursing process. Content focuses on nursing care and collaborative management in the maintenance, promotion, and restoration of health in individuals experiencing complex alterations in digestion and elimination, gas transport, metabolism, cognition, movement, defense, and protection. Life-threatening multisystem alterations are also discussed. Issues critical to nursing leadership theory, delegation and supervision, time management, chance theory and conflict resolution are introduced. The economic impact of catastrophic and complex chronic illness is considered. Prerequisite: NUR103, BIO320, PSY207, ENG106
