The usefulness of common serum laboratory tests in identifying potential or actual needs of individuals is the primary purpose of this course. Alterations in serum laboratory data associated with imbalances in the internal environment due to common pathological states of individuals across the life span will be discussed. The focus will be on utilizing this knowledge in the identification of nursing diagnoses and interventions. Prerequisite: Completion of two of the four Level II courses or permission of instructor.
