Building on their knowledge of traditional oral literatures, students continue with critical reading, discussion, written analysis, and performance of texts. Texts include novels, essays, stories, and poems by contemporary Native American writers. Films, art slides, guest speakers, and performers supplement the readings to enrich student understanding of the cultures that produced the literature. Approved for University Studies (Explorations).
