Prerequisites: Students must successfully complete all Medical Assisting core courses. Additional requirements include completion of an approved health care provider cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) course, completion of immunizations, resume, and other administrative requirements, including all packet items which must be on file in the program office.This non-remunerated course is the Medical Office Administrative Practicum (work experience). The student will have the opportunity to work in selected medical offices to perform the skills they have obtained through classroom application. The environment allows the student to function as a “front office” worker and perform duties such as medical record filing, procedural coding, claims filing, and reception duties under the supervision of experienced staff members.
