Presents the major artists and patrons of the 13th through 15th centuries by examining the art and architecture produced in the great cities of Florence, Padua, Mantua, Siena, and others. The artworks by such noted artists as Giotto, Duccio, Masaccio, Donatello, Brunelleschi, and many others, will be placed within formal, social, and theoretical frameworks.
