Lec. 3. Credit 3. This course will examine the outcomes of disruption of normal physiology; the alterations and mechanisms involved in the disruption; and the manifestations in disease and at risk conditions. Major diseases will be explored, in part by using a conceptual approach. The focus of the course is to provide the professional nurse with an understanding of pathophysiological principles as the basis for nursing assessment and therapeutic intervention.
