This course is designed to survey and develop an appreciation for mathematical topics that are useful in our contemporary world such as critical thinking, logic, sets, number theory, algebra and formulas, financial management, measurement units and conversions, geometry, statistics and applied problem solving. It is intended for students not expecting to enroll in additional math classes and is designed to satisfy the general education requirement for mathematics. Prerequisite: MAT 050 or equivalent or Placement test
