This course is the first semester of a two-semester sequence. This course emphasizes the anatomy and physiology of the human organism with reference to health-related topics. After an introduction, the following topics will be discussed: basic chemistry, cell biology, histology, integumentary system, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, and sensory system. Laboratory exercises will be provided to demonstrate and reinforce the principles of anatomy and physiology. This course cannot be used for credit toward a biology major or minor.
