A concise look at music theory as applied to contemporary music: chord theory, song analysis and lead sheet writing. Songwriting basics including lyrics, structure, performance and production. The second half of the class will be in a "workshop" format as members of the class present their songs for the class and the class works on the songs in collaboration. A final project will be a combined performance showcase of class member's songs.
