A practical course in which students carefully examine the scriptures in order to craft effective inspirational homilies, devotions, prayers, and extemporaneous talks as acts of ministry. Students will not only study various ways to construct and deliver messages, but will also receive peer and instructor evaluations. The focus of this course will be on how one discovers meaning in the biblical text and how that meaning is communicated to a variety of audiences. Prerequisite: COMM 212 or consent of instructor.
