Studies the Ohio Revised Code Titles 21 and 29, Rules of Juveile Procedure and Constitutional provisions which affect the juvenile justice system. This course reviews and analyzes the codified aspects of the juvenile justice system. Study begins with the establishment of paternity and ends with reaching the age of eighteen, emancipation, marriage or certifying a juvenile to be treated as an adult under the Ohio Revised Code legally or in a criminal matter. Emphasis is on critical thinking and legal analysis. Prerequisite: SOC 102, SOC 208, or permission of advisor.
