Introduces atomic structure, formulas, equations, stoichiometry, chemical bonding, gas laws, solution chemistry, and the basic concepts of mathematics used in chemistry to students who have had no high school chemistry. Credit is not applicable to a science concentration. Three hours lecture. Prerequisite: high school algebra, MTH 098, equivalent placement test scores or the approval of the instructor.
