Prerequisite: placement test or ENGL 0111 This course focuses on the writing process and on the composition of expository writing assignments, including personal, informational, and critical essays. Students read and analyze expository and imaginative texts (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or drama). In addition, the course reviews the principles of writing effective sentences and paragraphs. Because of duplication in course content, students who have taken ENGL 1110 English Composition I (A) should not take this course. (4 contact hours)
