A study of the processing techniques dealing with both live and recorded sound. Primary emphasis is upon the manipulation of that sound for radio broadcast, although consideration is given to live and studio recording. Content includes the understanding of the physical aspects of the creation of sound, proper use of microphones, sound mixing, as well as principles and techniques of recording and play back. Vocal sound production for speech and fundamentals of announcing are also covered. Offered fall term each year. Three semester hours.
