A course of readings in various representatives of the Christian tradition from the second through the fifth century, including Origen, Tertullian, Cyprian, Athanasius, Ambrose, and Augustine in their historical contexts. Special attention will be given to the contributions of these thinkers to the development of the Christian tradition. This course may satisfy the Church history core elective for the Bible/Ministry major. Prerequisites: Humanities 101-102 and 201-202 or consent of instructor. Offered periodically.
