An application of sociological principles, theories, and research findings to the understanding of the process of aging, the relationship of the aged to other segments of the population, and aging in other cultures. Topics include economic needs and resources of older people, issues of health and health care, work and retirement, psychological and physical changes, marriage and other relationships, and death and bereavement.
