(4) This course is a comprehensive overview of teaching skills and literacy strategies common to all content areas in secondary education. It is also a review and update of effective school principles, integration and instruction for special needs students, legal issues, assessment and the use of technology in the secondary classroom. In addition, this course includes a two-hour per week clinical experience in a secondary school. This course shall be taken in the semester prior to Directed Teaching. Prerequisites: Admission to Teacher Education, Senior standing.
