(3) This course is designed to provide an understanding of dispute resolution and particularly the use of mediation in family conflicts. The major topics include the mediation process, developing active listening and negotiation skills, divorce and child custody issues, parent/child issues, and simulated role-plays. The course will feature materials from texts, articles, handouts, films, speakers, and student participation in actual case mediations. Requisites: PR, SOCW 616 Core Mediation.
