(3) This course is designed for students interested in refining their ability to edit their own and others' writing. The course will acquaint students with a variety of editing conventions that writers follow when they adjust for rhetorical situation. For example, the course will include basic formats prescribed by the Modern Language Association (MLA), the American Psychological Association (APA), the Chicago Manual of Style, and others. Students will study copyediting, content editing, and visual editing to prepare their own writing for publication and/or to work as editors. The course is also available (though not required) for prospective teachers preparing to teach writing. Requisites: PR, ENG 101 and ENG 102.
