Description:
Designed to explore materials and methods of teaching language and literacy in the P-5 classroom. Students will study language and literacy development as well as the implications of student diversity for language learning. Students will investigate the theoretical background and research base supporting current understandings of the processes of the language arts (speaking, listening, reading, writing, viewing, and visual depicting). Students will also become acquainted with the vast selection of children's literature and strategies for incorporating into the curriculum. Prerequisites: ECED 3131 and READ 2230.
