This course is an introduction to industrial safety and health and emphasizes PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), chemical, tool, machine, and electrical safety, safe materials handling, basic fire and helath protection, as well as safe work practices. OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration), and other regulations, as related to various occupational hazards, are also discussed. (2 lect.)
