Prerequisites: MUSI 134, 135, and Admitted to Horton School of Music. A study of music in the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque periods. Stylistic changes in music are examined as they occur in major compositions by the most important composers of the time, and extensive listening is required. The lives of major composers are examined as well as the position of the musician in society. The course is designed for those pursuing a career in teaching and/or performance.
