Prerequisite: MUSI 134 and 135, Co-requisite: MUSI 231. A course to develop the aural skills for singing, advanced dictation of melodies and rhythms, and advanced chromatic dictation of melodic and harmonic materials. Specifically, these aural skills involve the identification of intervals, chromatic triad types, chromatic melodic lines, scales and modes, chromatic triad factors; seventh chords; the identification of complex rhythmic patterns and errors in complex rhythmic patterns; writing chromatic dictated melodies, multiple chromatic melodies, chromatic triads, seventh chords, chromatic harmonic progressions; sight-singing intervals, chromatic broken chords, chromatic melodies; the tapping or singing of complex rhythmic patterns.
