Comprehension of theoretical principles underlying elementary composition emphasizing the primary chords and their inversions, non-harmonic tones, and transposing instruments; practical compositional skills of elementary part writing (figured bass and Roman Numeral chord progressions) and composition emphasizing the above; analytical skills of elementary diatonic musical masterworks emphasizing the above.
