Prerequisites: ENGL 111 and 112. The course is designed to familiarize students with prominent French writers from the Middle Ages to the present time. Various aspects of French society are discussed in conjunction with the readings. Among the authors to be read are Racine Corneille, Moliere, Voltaire, Balzac, Flaubert, Zola, and Camus. Conducted in English.
