Description:
This course teaches students the fundamentals of Computer Science, covering topics in number systems, computer history, time sharing, system commands, file editing algorithms, flow-charting, pseudo-code, top-down design, branching, looping, arrays strings, basic input and output (I/O) operations, report writing, and scientific and business applications. Students are taught techniques in modular programming, testing and debugging larger programs, procedures, functions, parameter subprograms, and multidimensional arrays. Prerequisite: MTH 1750 or permission of the instructor.
