Prerequisites: PSY 101 and BIO 100 or equivalent. This course reviews our knowledge of how behavior and cognition are controlled by neural and other physiological processes. The content falls into three areas: an examination of neurons and neurotransmitters; a description of sensory and motor systems; and a summary of various behavioral and cognitive phenomena (e.g., learning, memory, psychiatric disorders) and how the central nervous system is involved in their control.
