The course examines the organizational goals, structure, membership, policies, and practices of international and American professional and amateur sports. Emphasis is placed on the Olympic Movement, including the International Olympic Committee, international sports federations, and the national governing bodies. Other sport organizations under exploration include the United States Olympic Committee, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and American professional individual and team sports.
