Prerequisites: BIO 268, BIO 269. This is the study of the physiological function during physical activity and the effects of exercise training programs. The functional bases for physical activity and fitness, including metabolic energy sources, cardiorespiratory function, muscle contraction, temperature regulation, and gender comparisons are studied. Laboratory activities focus on the application and measurement of physiological function during exercise. This course must be taken with PED 324 and is designed for physical education majors only.
