Prerequisite: Students must be admitted to the Nursing Program. (Open to RN students only.) This course is offered online and introduces the student to the need for theory development in nursing, selected nursing models, and the philosophy and conceptual framework of the School of Nursing. Attitudes and values that support the professional nurse are explored. Emphasis is placed on the acquisition of knowledge and skills for facilitative communication and the appreciation of cultural diversity. Concepts related to community-based practice and the nursing process are introduced.
