Prerequisites: Prior online application to the Office of Field Services, successful completion of Portfolio Checkpoint #3, course prerequisites listed in checklist including: EST 378 with a grade of B or higher; all professional coursework; 2.50 cumulative GPA; and 2.75 professional GPA. This is a university-supervised student-teaching experience in two separate state-approved special education programs: one for students with intellectual or multiple disabilities, and one for students with emotional disturbance. It involves five days a week for one semester observing and teaching under a mentor teacher's direction; it includes a seminar. Successful completion requires demonstration of competencies necessary for licensure as a Moderate/Intensive Intervention Specialist.
