Prerequsites or Corequisites: EDB 200, EDB 301 and EDB 302. This is an introduction to the profession of special education with information regarding the characteristics of persons with the various disabilities included in IDEA. Students learn historical and legal issues regarding special education; to identify, plan, and implement a variety of instructional strategies; and information on the concepts of Praxis II and of the profession. Includes 50 hours observation and field experience.
