Prerequisite: Honors standing or permission of university Honors Program. Corequisite: BIO 105H. This honors course will survey the organization and function of the mammalian brain, emphasizing the human brain when possible. The nervous system is analyzed throughout a range of levels from the molecular basis of neuronal functioning to the system levels that govern behavior and cognition. The course emphasizes fundamental principles of neural functioning and the experimental methods by which that information is obtained.
