Focuses on the role of the professional nurse in the application of mental health principles for the maintenance and restoration of individuals and families experiencing limitations in psychosocial functioning. Self awareness, personal growth, sociocultural sensitivity, and professional development are vital components. Uses a multisectoral approach to address contemporary mental health issues and their sequelae. Requires three clock hours of class per week. Offered first semester and summer session. Prerequisite or Concurrent: All 200-level nursing courses & Nurs371.
