Introduction to the principles and practices of the Alexander Technique, critical for actors and performers for freeing the body for maximum efficiency of self-expression by identifying unwanted movement patterns and constrictions. Students learn to release restrictive bodily tensions and move with more ease and freedom thus becoming more conscious and accountable for the way they use their bodies. Class work includes simple anatomy, developmental movement, monologue videoing, animal observations, breathing and relaxation techniques.
